If you want a challenging hike and don’t mind sweating you have to do this hike. I’m not going to lie to you, this hike is tough. People are med-flighted off of this mountain all the time because of the intensity of it and probably a lot to do with not being prepared properly. There is a stretch of this hike that has railings going up it to help you get up and down the smooth rocky area. When I first moved to Arizona I did this hike often. You can’t imagine the sense of accomplishment when you finally get to the top and you can see all of Scottsdale and what seems like all of Arizona. Sadly, I had to stop doing this hike as I developed a bad allergy to Palo Verde Trees and the entire hike up has these trees.
