Bernardo Winery in San Diego is breathtaking.  This little winery has gone above and beyond to create it’s own little “community”.  What I mean by that is they don’t just stop at serving wine.  They have a restaurant, a chocolate shop for pairings (which comes with your tastings), an art shop, halls for weddings and celebrations, a place to take art classes, a salon and so much more.  I literally spent hours here, not just tasting wine, dining, meeting people, exploring the shops and walking the premises.  It’s hard to believe this winery is in the middle of a neighborhood and yet captures most everything you would expect to see at a winery.

I had a wonderful experience with the staff.  Not only were they friendly but they were also accommodating.  I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to try in my tasting so I just let the staff know what I liked and what I didn’t like and they put together a tasting for me.  I didn’t have one tasting that I did not enjoy. I also enjoyed a nice sangria while I ate at the restaurant.   The food was fantastic, which you could clearly tell by the wait time to get seated.

While I was there there was a surprise birthday party and a wedding going on and even with all of that commotion I experienced great customer service, stellar organization and many happy people.  After all, in a place like this, how could you not be happy?

No questions asked I will revisit this winery.  I might not boondock there this time because it was not easy to get in to with a 30 ft Class A with a tow but it was more than worth the struggle.
